Buchanan currently has an available position for a mid-to-senior level associate with 5 or more years of experience in healthcare. Key Responsibilities: Advise clients on healthcare laws, regulations, and compliance issues, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other relevant statutes. Draft, review, and negotiate healthcare-related contracts, policies, and agreements. Conduct legal research on emerging healthcare legal developments and industry standards. Manage and support litigation, administrative proceedings, and regulatory investigations involving healthcare entities. Assist in due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships within the healthcare sector. Prepare legal memos, reports, and presentations for clients and internal use. Stay current on changes in healthcare legislation and industry trends affecting clients. Mentor junior associates and paralegals, providing guidance on healthcare law matters. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including compliance, regulatory, and corporate departments. Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, or hearings related to healthcare legal issues. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing healthcare law or related legal fields. Admission to the state bar applicable to the Buchanan office location. Strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and compliance standards. Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to manage multiple cases and client relationships effectively. Proficiency in legal research tools and document management systems. Preferred Skills: Experience with healthcare regulatory counseling, transactions, and reimbursement. Prior experience with healthcare providers and health systems. Demonstrated technical skills and leadership or mentorship capabilities.
