Ballard Spahr LLP, which recently combined with Lane Powell PC, a more than 750+ lawyer firm with 19 offices across the U.S., is seeking a highly qualified associate to join its expanding Labor & Employment Litigation practice in Portland. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of relevant Labor & Employment Litigation experience. Successful candidates will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of class action and single-plaintiff litigation and administrative charge work, including preparing position statements, evaluating claims, preparing for mediations, discovery, depositions, drafting motions, and preparing cases for arbitration and trial. The position will be responsible for researching federal, state, and local employment laws and providing strategic thinking in avoiding and resolving employment disputes. Depending on experience, the position may also be responsible for counseling HR professionals and business executives on compliance with employment laws and drafting employment agreements. Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and strong academic credentials are required. Compensation and Benefits: The salary range for this position is from $205,000 - $260,000, which reflects the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will depend on several factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. In addition to the salary for this position, lawyers may be eligible for an incentive bonus program and/or a profit-sharing bonus program.
