Specific skills sought are: 3-5 years of experience handling construction contract claims, public and private, as opposed to construction defect work experience; Experience with arbitration and at least exposure to preparing a case for trial/arbitration including actually participating in an arbitration or trial; Knowledge and experience of mechanic’s lien, law, stop notices, bid protests, public contract law, prompt payment law and payment and performance bonds; Knowledge and experience working on construction claims for contract extras, delay damages, impact damages, assessment of liquidated damages and substantive law surrounding these issues; Knowledge of alternate project delivery methods; Deposition experience both as to percipient witnesses and expert witnesses in the substantive areas of construction claims and law and motion experience involving substantive law and discovery issues; Experience putting together discovery plans and executing same; Excellent writing skills; motions, depositions, and letters regarding construction litigation issues; Ability to handle and manage, with supervision and oversight, preparing and responding to written discovery and conducting depositions; Ability to interface with the client and convey a level of professionalism and competence in terms of both the legal issues and the strategic practical issues in construction litigation; Willingness and ability to take ownership of a matter and ability to develop a course of action; Self-starter and excellent follow-through skills; Important Note to Search Consultants: Our posting of the positions on this web site does not authorize search firms or other third parties to directly solicit candidates on the firm's behalf.
