The Assistant Managing Clerk is responsible for assisting the Managing Attorney and Managing Clerk in rendering substantive procedural guidance to attorneys and staff at the Firm. This role helps ensure compliance with court rules and maintains accurate tracking of litigation deadlines. The Assistant Managing Clerk plays a key role in monitoring court activity, supporting docketing operations, and helping lead the firm’s docketing team. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Assist with review, preparation, and electronic filing in federal, state, appellate, and bankruptcy courts Review and analyze court documents for all deadlines applicable, while providing guidance to legal staff and attorneys on court rules and litigation procedures Collaborate, manage, and oversee quality control and work product of other staff members and provide guidance where necessary to support efficiency and reduce redundancies, and maintain consistency in docketing and calendaring practices Liaise with court personnel and external vendors and coordinate service, including subpoenas and notices Selectively bill time as authorized by the partners Draft legal procedural documents to review by attorneys Work with Managing Clerk and Managing Attorney to keep staff up to date on changes in procedures in federal and state courts and distribute information and assist with training of personnel Assist with supervision of MCO staff alongside the Managing Clerk and Managing Attorney Perform other duties as assigned Education Required Bachelor’s degree required Preferred JD or some law school coursework preferred Skills and Experience Required Superior knowledge of New York, California, and federal rules of civil procedure 6 or more years of relevant experience required Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with attorneys and staff regarding complex legal procedures Ability to manage multiple/simultaneous requests, assign priorities and achieve solutions within certain deadlines Ability to effectively share knowledge and resources with appropriate parties, both internally and externally Strong problem solving and analytical skills to make sound decisions, escalating as appropriate Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment Proven ability to exercise initiative and sound independent judgment Preferred Strong Electronic Filing experience on various state and federal platforms strong understanding of procedural research and litigation procedures Salary Information CA Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and
