Objective of the position The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer – Controls is responsible for leading the development, ownership, and implementation of manufacturing equipment controls and EOL testing. This role covers Final Assembly and PCBA preparation processes and is executed in close collaboration with local AME teams and global launch support, aligned with regional operations. The position ensures the delivery of an efficient, cost‑effective, and world‑class manufacturing system that meets customer specifications while supporting scalable global production capabilities. Characterization of activities Develops and standardizes Final Assembly and PCBA preparation processes, participates on pFMEA reviews, and gap analysis to improve safety, quality, and cost. Specifies and implements efficient, cost‑effective, and reproducible global manufacturing system controls, including automation, PLCs, testing, and pilot setups to support new product launches. Inputs on manufacturability, costing, equipment selection, capacity planning, quality, and contingency strategies. Supports prototype builds, pilot production, series production, and product or machine transfers across global manufacturing sites. Drives continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma, standard work, sustainability audits, and benchmarking of new technologies and manufacturing processes. Partners with global equipment suppliers, procurement, and internal stakeholders while fostering a “Leaders as Teachers” culture through training and knowledge transfer. Education, Experience and Knowledge Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Software preferred). Minimum 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or manufacturing engineering, with exposure to lean, quality, operations, and product development. Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment specification, procurement, validation planning, and execution. Preferred experience in automotive and small‑parts manufacturing, including high‑volume, high‑mix, lean and automated production environments. Proven track record in process engineering strategy, Lean implementation, project management, and continuous improvement delivering measurable business results. Strong communicator and proactive stakeholder manager with an open, extroverted mindset; disciplined and reliable in meeting deadlines.
