The Senior Manager, Legal Recruiting & Associate Life will oversee lateral and campus recruitment processes and support the orientation and integration processes for new associates. This individual will also partner closely with the global HR team on Firmwide HR initiatives (e.g., talent assessment, learning and development, wellness). The Senior Manager will be reporting to the Director, Administration (Los Angeles) with a dotted line to the Director of Legal Talent – Regional Strategy. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Oversee the attorney recruitment process (both lateral attorney and campus recruitment) for the Los Angeles office Assist in ensuring the Firm’s marketing materials align with overall recruiting strategy, including promotional and educational pieces, industry surveys, website, etc. In coordination with the Manager, Legal Recruiting & Associate Life, manage summer associate work assignments, evaluation and review process, including providing direction to associate assignors, directing summer associates on usage of the tracking database and compiling performance review materials for partners Support the orientation and integration processes for new associates and the coordination of formal mentoring assignments for all incoming associates and laterals. Develop and coordinate events for associates to foster morale, collegiality and teamwork, including working in conjunction with the Firm’s Inclusion team and the Los Angeles office affinity groups Manage associate work assignments and out of office requests to ensure adequate staffing is always available Assist the Corporate Training Manager and CLE Compliance Specialist with training and CLE efforts for attorneys in the Los Angeles office Serve as an advisor and liaison between associates and partners; direct attorneys to resources within the Firm to help resolve concerns or problems and coordinate available resources to help find solutions Oversee and maintain the Los Angeles office’s mentoring programs Conduct exit interviews for departing associates Maintain budget to ensure appropriate resource allocations within the context of the Firm’s financial goals Additional duties as assigned Education Required Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field, or equivalent years of experience Skills and Experience Required A minimum of 5 years of recruiting experience in a professional services firm or comparable environment Strong business and financial acumen Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong leadership skills Gravitas to liaise with partners and senior professionals Highly organized with strong attention to detail Self-starting; able to take projects from conceptual stage through to implementation Creative problem-solving and strategic thinking skills Great interpersonal skills and keen ability to carry out needs and objectives of the office while maintaining an excellent work environment and culture Positiv
