JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for sustaining and optimizing hardware aspects of released products from SOP through End-of-Life, ensuring design integrity, manufacturability, quality performance, and cost competitiveness. Acts as the plant-level technical owner for electrical design, driving root cause analysis, design improvements, supplier changes, and cross-functional alignment to support production, warranty, and continuous improvement objectives. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Change Management: Managing and implementing internal product design changes to improve function, cost, or reliability. Issue Analysis: Conducting second level technical analysis and resolution for production issues, including "0km" returns and top failure analysis (FTQ/Safe Launch/Scrap). Field and Warranty Support: Performing second-level analysis (EE, ME, Sys, SW) on warranty and customer returns and feeding these field issues back into the engineering organization. Root Cause and Corrective Action: Identifying systemic root causes and triggering/implementing permanent corrective actions. Supplier and Material Support: Assessing supplier change requests (EOL, SMCIP) and supporting the Supplier Quality team with technical assessments and analysis of availability issues. Cost Ownership: Leading Component Changs as part of Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives. Mentorship: Serving as technical coaches and mentors for site technicians performing diagnosis and repair. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electonics Engineering, Electronics/Digital Systems, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred EXPERIENCE: Proven experience in sustaining/series engineering, product engineering, or design engineering of automotive, electronics or high volume products. Proven experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone). Experience working with cross-functional teams (Quality, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Design Engineering). Exposure to customer interaction and field/warranty issue resolution. Experience with change management processes (PCR, CCB, PPAP). KNOWLEDGE: FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking Decision-making under production pressure Cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management Effective communication (technical and executive level) Project and change management Risk assessment and mitigation (FMEA mindset) Continuous improvement and cost optimization mindset Customer-focused approach (OEM-driven environment) TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES Ability to understand, analyze, and modify circuit designs and schematics (Analog/Digital/Power) Failure and Root Cause Analysis (FA / RCA) on electrical failure modes (EOS, ESD, latch-up, EIPD) Semiconductor & Component-Level Expertise with understanding of: MCU behavior (ADC, GPIO protection, memory, watchdogs) Discrete components (TVS, MOSFETs, resistors, capacitors) Failure mechanisms (die damage, bond wire fusing, leakage paths) Automotive Electrical Standards & Robustness Design with basic knowledge of: ISO/SAE test requirements (load dump, cranking, transients, voltages) ESD standards (IEC, ISO 10605) EMC/EMI fundamentals Quality Core tools (DFMEA, PFMEA, CP, MSA, APQP, SPC, PPAP) DFM in PCB - Design & Layout Fundamentals Test, Validation & Debugging (DV/PV/EOL) knowledge with hands-on capabilities for oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies, transient generators, ESD guns, End-of-Line (EOLT) test systems and diagnostics. Embedded Hardware-Software Interaction with understanding of Understanding of: HW/SW interfaces (drivers, ADC scaling, communication protocols), diagnostics (DTCs, CAN traces), firmware impact on hardware behavior Manufacturing Process & Test Interface (DFM/DFT): SMT processes, soldering defects, reflow profiles ICT, functional test coverage Rework, flashing, and handling processes Change Management & Engineering Documentation (PCR/CCB) Reliability Engineering & Lifecycle Management Join the company that’s driving the global transportation industry!
