The Multifamily Housing Finance Group represents lenders active in the multifamily housing industry with a focus on closing loans secured by multifamily projects and delivering those loans to secondary market investors. The Paralegal is tasked with reviewing and analyzing titles and surveys for multifamily housing properties, requiring a comprehensive understanding of these areas. This role includes a component of billable hours. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct title and survey review and analysis for commercial real estate loans, including but not limited to Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. Maintain thorough and current knowledge of commercial real estate lending guidelines. Perform paralegal duties and responsibilities as directed by the group leader and other attorneys. Monitor and meet loan closing deadlines. Perform all assignments in strict compliance with ethical guidelines governing the practice of law. Maintain the firm’s official file utilizing the document management system. Track and record client-billable time as required meeting minimum billable hour requirements. Maintain and prioritize work on a daily basis and communicate if unable to meet daily responsibilities. Receive and follow complex instructions. Utilize sound judgment and discretion effectively. Provide quality client service to both internal and external clients in a professional manner and build strong relationships. Track and record both billable and nonbillable work on a daily basis. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and client interfacing abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, while managing a large workload in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork skills within and across the Multifamily Housing practice group to facilitate efficient legal service delivery. Willingness to learn and develop new skills. Adapt to changing assignments and priorities with readiness. Demonstrate initiative in completing routine assignments with minimal supervision. Availability to work overtime when necessary or requested. Consistently exhibit a high degree of professionalism. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Minimum two (2) years of experience with commercial real estate transactions, specifically title and survey review and analysis, at either a law firm or title company.
