: We are seeking a skilled Municipal Attorney to join our team in San Luis Obispo. This is a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful legal work that directly impacts communities across California. You’ll work closely with cities, counties, and special districts, providing legal counsel that shapes public policy and governance. We’re looking for a candidate with at least 4 years of municipal law experience who thrives in a collaborative, inclusive environment and is passionate about public service. Duties & Responsibilities: ∙Advising city councils, boards, and commissions during public meetings and closed sessions. ∙Drafting and reviewing ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and policies. ∙Providing counsel on issues related to the Brown Act, Public Records Act, conflicts of interest, and other public law matters. ∙Assisting with land use, zoning, and CEQA compliance. ∙Handling matters involving public procurement, real property, and economic development. Qualifications: ∙Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. ∙Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing. ∙Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. ∙Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. ∙Strong interest and/or experience working with public agencies Salary - $120,000 - $225,000/year Lozano Smith is committed to giving all employees the opportunity to experience meaningful, impactful work.
