Job Title Conflicts Researcher II Location Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C. Regular/Temporary Regular Job Description Summary We have an opening for a Conflicts Researcher II. The Conflicts Researcher II is responsible for assisting the Firm’s Office of the General Counsel, Risk & Compliance team, and the Conflicts and New Business Intake Department with legal research, analysis, and counsel on matters relating to conflicts of interest, ethics and professional responsibility issues, compliance, and other matters. Job Description The Conflicts Researcher II will: Independently conduct thorough and accurate research of corporations, government agencies, and individuals, using internal and external information resources to confirm the accuracy of information; Update data in corporate hierarchies or, “family trees,” in the Firm’s conflicts and billing databases, as necessary; Analyze, evaluate, and interpret both reference source research results and conflicts reports to identify existing and potential conflicts-of-interest with incoming parties for all firm engagements and hires; Communicate with attorneys and administrative staff regarding conflicts check results, advise on actual or potential conflicts, and propose necessary steps to resolve any actual or potential conflicts-of-interest; Consult with Conflicts Department management on complex conflicts issues that require further direction of the Office of the General Counsel; Inform and advise firm attorneys of any special circumstances surrounding complex conflicts issues; Conduct proactive research of mergers, acquisitions, and potential bankruptcies using various business reference sources, and record findings in the Firm’s conflicts database; Analyze “thrust-upon” conflicts issues and propose resolutions to attorneys in consultation with Conflicts Attorneys and the Office of the General Counsel; Maintain resolution notes and responses for each conflicts request; and Handle additional conflicts research and analysis projects as assigned and required. In addition, the Conflicts Researcher II is expected to have: Advanced-level proficiency to organize, prioritize, coordinate, and work as part of a team; Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong ability to meet deadlines and provide results while supporting and enforcing Firm policy and procedures; Possess well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively i
