Ice Miller is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate to join our Litigation Practice Group, preferably in our Baltimore office. Ideal candidates will have four (4) to six (6) years of experience, a strong interest in leading cases, managing teams, and contributing to strategic case development and execution.
In this position, you will:
Handle all aspects of complex litigation, including case assessment, pleadings, discovery strategy, motion practice, depositions, trial and/or oral advocacy.
Manage business disputes in federal and state courts and before arbitration panels, including coordinating experts, overseeing large case dockets, and leading fact investigations (interviews and records review).
Draft and develop litigation strategies, pleadings, briefs, and motions, and engage in strategic depositions and witness preparation.
Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals, supporting their professional development and training.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, including general counsels, executives, boards, and other key stakeholders.
Collaborate with partners on business development and client relationship management, including participating in pitches, contributing to presentations and proposals, and supporting ongoing client engagement, with a clear path for advancement and active encouragement to grow a practice.
Requirements:
J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
At least four (4) years of experience practicing law in a law firm and in-house environment
Active law license in Maryland
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent analytical skills and business judgement
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States

The salary range for this position is $187,000 to $225,000 based on experience, plus opportunities for discretionary and hours-based bonus
