Compensation Paralegal

Description
Baker & McKenzie LLP seeks a paralegal for the Executive Compensation practice to be based in California (San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles), Chicago or New York.
Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with client matters related to U.S. and global executive compensation, equity incentive (e.g., stock option, ESPP and RSUs) and other incentive arrangements
Prepare various securities, tax, currency control and other filings/ruling applications to ensure compliance for compensation arrangements around the world, including U.S. blue sky filings.
Correspondence with Baker McKenzie offices and correspondent law firms around the world to assist with submission of filings and providing advice on compensation arrangements.
Manage filing calendars for larger clients with multiple filings throughout the year and proactively correspond with clients to complete necessary filings.
Draft and prepare other correspondence, memoranda, charts, etc. for clients in relation to global compensation arrangements, and manage global surveys.
Assist with corporate transactions affecting compensation arrangements, such as M&As, spin-offs, divestitures, IPOs and other transactions.
Contribute to the identification of innovative services and methods to assist in achieving efficiencies and continual process improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree required; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved program preferred
Working experience in global law firm, ideally with executive or equity compensation, global employment or corporate reorganization experience (or other multi-jurisdictional practice area).
Strong attention to detail
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and online research tools
Excellent writing and organization skills – takes responsibility for projects, and used to balancing work priorities and managing deadlines
Good decision-making, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work individually and within a team of various experience levels in a fast-paced environment
Keen to develop and use initiative

Pay Transparency
This position is bonus eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) based on number of hours worked.
The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $63,000 to $115,000 (annually) if located in an office in the state of California or Illinois. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
