Ice Miller LLP is seeking a mid-level Bankruptcy Associate to join our New York office who has three (3) to seven (7) years of bankruptcy or restructuring experience. This role offers the opportunity to support a sophisticated bankruptcy and restructuring practice handling complex national bankruptcy and related litigation cases. The associate will work closely with senior attorneys on complex bankruptcy proceedings representing a broad range of stakeholders, including creditors’ committees, liquidation trustees, receivers, debtors, secured and unsecured creditors. Matters routinely involve high-stakes litigation and contested issues in Chapter 11 cases.
The ideal candidate will have experience:
Supporting complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including chapter 11 cases and out-of-court workouts
Representing including creditors’ committees, liquidation trustees, receivers, debtors, landlords, secured and unsecured creditors
Drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and related filings and participating in substantive court proceedings
Collaborating with attorneys across offices and practice groups on restructuring matters in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
The ideal candidate will also have:
Three (3) to seven (7) years of bankruptcy or restructuring experience within a law firm environment
Experience in chapter 11 matters and creditor-side representation
Experience in litigation, taking and defending depositions, and courtroom advocacy
Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills
Strong entrepreneurial drive
Strong drive to stay informed on legal developments and industry trends in bankruptcy law
A J.D. from an accredited law school
Active and in good standing bar admission to the New York state bar
Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States

The salary range for this position is $250,000 to $360,000 based on experience, plus opportunities for discretionary and hours-based bonus
