<p>With over 20 departments providing a diverse array of services, the City of Rosenberg offers a unique variety of internship opportunities across a number of fields of study for students to enhance their academic learning with real world knowledge. In some situations, an internship can be developed collaboratively with the department for a more specialized experience. Through internship placements, students receive valuable training while providing public service to the community.</p><p style="margin: 0 0 0.0001pt">Projects and work assignments vary by department and are designed to give the Intern a broad, positive experience in municipal government. Through the City's internship program, Interns can:</p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt; margin-top: 0"><li style="margin: 0 0 0.0001pt">Enhance your resume</li><li style="margin: 0 0 0.0001pt">Investigate your own personal interest and goals</li><li style="margin: 0 0 0.0001pt">Expand your knowledge of local government</li><li style="margin: 0 0 0.0001pt">Network with government professionals </li></ul><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">Some assignments may include:</p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li><span style="color: inherit">Performs general administrative duties for various departments throughout the City</span><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li><span style="color: inherit">Answers incoming calls and take informative messages for appropriate staff and forward to appropriate personnel</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Assists with processing of payment for invoices</span></li></ul></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Assists with special projects for assigned department by conducting research, organizing data, and performing analysis</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Assists with planning, implementing and post event activities</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Performs Data entry</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Observes and assists professionals in assigned department where work will be performed</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Performs other duties as assigned</span></li></ul><ul><li>High School Diploma or successful completion of the General Education Development (GED) Test</li><li style="text-align: justify">Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software including Microsoft Office</li><li style="text-align: justify">Must be currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Government, Public Administration, or a closely related field</li></ul><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Valid Class C Texas Driver License</li><li>Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of the following pre-employment checks:<ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt; list-style-type: circle"><li>Criminal background check </li><li>Controlled substance screening</li></ul></li></ul>
