The role-holder will be supporting the attorneys globally through file updates and client credit decisions; the daily application of the client credit manual, including clerical tasks, is a crucial aspect of the role. Main responsibilities: Develop a firm understanding of the BM Client Credit Rules, Interpretations and Procedures; training sessions and a thorough study of the client credit manual will be required File pertinent communications from the Client Credit Administration Outlook mailbox to our internal database, OnBase Fulfil matter re-assignment requests from attorneys in accordance with the B&M Client Credit Rules, Interpretations and Procedures; this will require a thorough review of the scope of work and fees before entering data into our rewards system software, CCOasys, communications regarding re-assignment requests must be properly archived in OnBase Update internal reports on the corporate structure of BM clients; this will require online research with the aid of Hoovers Dun & Bradstreet Manage requests for files, reports, or status updates from attorneys and the Retired Partner Representative Analyze and process financial sharing agreements between attorneys, such as Rule 9, 10 and 12, in accordance with the B&M Client Credit Rules Publish Semi-Monthly Arrangement Reports on our BakerWorld page in a timely fashion in SharePoint Compose clear and concise questionnaires for BM attorneys to complete, professional business writing experience is expected Process original determinations for elementary level client credit claims in accordance with the BM Client Credit Rules, Interpretations, and Procedures. Elementary claims cover Rules 2, 7, and 3 (i.e. new clients, recently hired attorneys, and "failure to respond" determinations respectively); the claims process involves research, analysis, and formal business writing Decide the client credit ownership and prepare a well written determination memorandum Perform other duties as may be assigned Skills and Experience: A bachelor's degree required Experience in business analysis or functional support Law firm support staff or finance experience preferred Proficient in using Outlook, Word, Excel (i.e. sorting, pivot tables, and basic formulas) Excellent written and spoken English communication skills Must be an exceptional reader  Independent thinking and very light supervision is required Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Collaborative team player that's willing and able to take initiative Keen attention to detail and effective organizational skills Effective time management ability and prioritization essential to meet deadlines Able to produce quality results under significant time constraints Able to work and produce results within a group as well as individually Willing to do what is necessary to complete assigned tasks Reports to: Senior Manager, Client Credit Administration Position type: Specialist Development framework: Business Support About us At Baker McKenzie we are different in the way we think, work and behave.
