Description
We are looking to strengthen our Budapest‑based Tax team with a Junior Tax Lawyer who has already gained at least 2 years of relevant professional experience and is keen to further develop their expertise in a high‑quality, international law firm environment.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a Junior Tax Lawyer, you will work closely with senior colleagues on a broad range of Hungarian and international tax matters. Your main responsibilities will include:
Supporting tax advisory work for domestic and international clients across various industries
Assisting with corporate tax, VAT and international tax matters
Contributing to tax structuring, tax due diligence, and transaction‑related work
Drafting legal memoranda, opinions, and client‑facing materials
Conducting legal and tax research and monitoring legislative developments
Liaising with colleagues across practice groups and jurisdictions as part of cross‑border matters
Managing assigned tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines and quality expectations
Expectations and Requirements:
We are specifically looking for candidates who already have some practical experience, and therefore expect the successful candidate to:
Have at least 2 years of professional experience in tax law (law firm, consultancy, or in‑house environment)
Hold a Hungarian law degree
Be comfortable working with written materials in English and Hungarian
Demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound legal reasoning
Be reliable, well‑organised, and able to work effectively under time pressure
Show motivation to learn, take ownership of tasks, and actively contribute to team work
