Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Senior Client Employee Benefits Advisor. The Senior Client Employee Benefits Advisor reports to Legal Practice Support management and the Employee Benefits Practice Group and is assigned to work closely with attorneys, Senior Client Employee Benefits Consultants, and clients on all matters relating to firm clients’ employee benefit plans and programs. This position can be resident in any of the following offices: Philadelphia, New York, Washington, DC or Chicago and a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule is available. Primary Functions and Responsibilities Reviews statutory, regulatory, and other governmental pronouncements to assess the impact on clients’ employee benefit plans. Prepares and amends employee benefit plans to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and to implement plan design changes. Prepares and revises summary plan descriptions and other employee communications. Advises clients on how to resolve compliance issues and other technical matters that arise in the day-to-day administration of their employee benefit plans and programs. Assesses impact of corporate transactions (mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, etc.) on clients’ employee benefit plans. Prepares IRS determination letter requests and other governmental filings. At the direction of practice group attorneys, assists Firm Benefits Department in connection with issues and concerns that arise in the administration of the firms’ employee benefit plans. Participates in client pitches and prepare client development materials. Assists in preparation of Employee Benefits Practice Group MLBeneBits blog posts, LawFlashes, and Webcasts. Conduct internal benefit compliance audits of client benefit plans, policies, and practices. Education and Experience This job requires: A Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and, A minimum 5 years of experience as a member of a benefits consulting team, client service team, or a law firm team in the employee benefits practice area The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
