General Description: We are seeking a Practice Development Manager to join our team to advance the business development and marketing goals and objectives of its Government Section. Working together with section leadership, the Director of Marketing and Business Development and the broader business development and marketing team, this role serves as a primary point of contact for attorneys and policy professionals to facilitate client opportunities, develop key messaging for better positioning in the market, and collaborate across departmental and geographic lines to identify and pursue leading revenue-generating opportunities. Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions: Assume responsibility for managing the marketing and business development activities of assigned groups and practices. Work collaboratively with the Government Section Director of Marketing and Business Development to develop marketing and business development strategies and programs to advance the goals and objectives of assigned groups and practices. Become familiar with the practice, clientele, sources of business and related resources (e.g., trade and industry organizations, publications, related professionals) for the section and assigned practice groups and teams. Spearhead the development of, as well as implement and track, the business plans for the assigned practice groups. Develop and manage Section, Practice Group and Team budgets. Strategize with the Groups and Teams to identify appropriate marketing activities and initiatives. Develop and maintain collateral materials, including brochures, deal or case lists, practice descriptions and other Web site content. Plan and participate in all assigned practice group and team meetings. Assess opportunities and assist in developing responses to RFP's and pitches for new business. Identify and direct practice group research efforts for the assigned areas, including trends and issues, targeted companies, etc. Seek opportunities to leverage practice group or team successes to other firm practice groups, offices or teams. Identify opportunities to cross sell assigned practice group services across the firm. Facilitate the directory submission process for relevant ranking organizations/publications. Qualifications: Take an ownership approach to the assigned practice areas. An understanding of regulatory practices preferred. Ideal candidate has previous experience servicing regulatory practitioners. Creative, outward-looking, confident, capable of bringing new ideas to the practice groups and teams. Leader, mentor, coach, team player, facilitator, manager, client-service orientation.
