DanaherLagnese, P.C., a mid-sized litigation defense law firm, has an excellent opportunity for a Litigation Paralegal to assist in the investigation and preparation of medical malpractice defense files. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with assigned attorneys during all phases of the litigation process including legal research, discovery, and trial preparation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Preparing motions, pleadings, and responses to discovery requests. •Summarizing depositions and discovery responses. •Collecting and reviewing medical records; preparing detailed medical summaries and chronologies. •Investigates information to respond to litigation discovery requests or other inquiries. •Performs legal research and analysis, both manually and on computers; compiles, analyzes, and summarizes data. •Manages cases and files; organizes and maintains electronic files. •Performs factual and technical investigation and analysis of case issues. •Assists in all phases of case preparation including discovery and trial. •Assists with special projects as assigned. •Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in working with confidential and sensitive matters. QUALIFICATIONS: •Minimum three years of litigation experience. •Bachelor’s degree in related field or Paralegal Certificate with an Associates degree preferred. •Strong research skills and acute attention to detail. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Commitment to excellence and high standards. •Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow. •Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. •Exhibits good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. •Flexibility and willingness to work with changing priorities. •Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
