Summary DLA Piper is seeking a highly motivated International Tax Associate to join our dynamic Tax Group. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated cross border matters within a collaborative, global platform. What You’ll Do You will play a key role in supporting clients on complex, multi-jurisdictional tax matters, including: International structuring and cross border transactional planning Managing large, multi-country projects and coordinating with global teams Advising on U.S. and international tax technical issues Taking on meaningful client responsibilities early in your career What We’re Looking For We’re seeking candidates with 3-6 years of international tax experience who demonstrate strong technical excellence, practical judgment, and the ability to manage sophisticated workstreams. Ideal candidates bring knowledge and experience across several of the following areas: U.S. and global international tax rules (including sourcing rules, ECI, foreign tax credits) Income tax treaties and permanent establishment issues Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT Withholding tax considerations Tax free reorganizations, IP planning, and cost sharing arrangements OECD BEPS frameworks, CbC reporting, and related foreign legislation (e.g., UK anti hybrid rules, DPT; Australia MAAL) U.S. and global transfer pricing documentation requirements International provisions of U.S. tax reform Familiarity with financial statements and modeling is a plus Responsibilities Responsibilities as an Associate will vary based on level of experience and specific practice group. Legal Research: Conduct thorough and comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case/transaction preparation and strategy. Legal Writing: Draft well-written, error free, and reasoned legal documents, including briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence. Case/Transaction Assistance and Management: Assist/Manage a variety of complex cases/transactions from inception to resolution including preparing for trials, negotiations, settlements, closings, and other legal activities while continuously demonstrating strong judgement. Internal/External Client Interaction: Build, maintain, and cultivate strong internal and external client relationships by providing support, regular updates, advice, and addressing concerns promptly and with the utmost professionalism. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other lawyers and business professionals to support and develop innovative case/transaction strategies to achieve the most favorable outcomes for internal and external clients.
