Join our Government Law & Policy Team as a Legislative Assistant supporting our located in our Washington, D.C. office. We are seeking a skilled professional with 2-3 years of federal policy experience and a desire to develop deeper expertise in transportation, infrastructure, and technology issues. Position Summary The Transportation Legislative Assistant will provide essential research, administrative, and scheduling support to a fast-paced and busy team and will play an active role in supporting client advocacy efforts before Congress and federal agencies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining strict confidentiality. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed. Schedule hours: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm. Key Responsibilities The Legislative Assistant will play a key role in supporting team members and clients through a variety of tasks, including: Conduct in-depth research on legislative issues, bills, and policy proposals, including synthesizing complex statutory and regulatory developments into clear, actionable analysis. Track the progress of legislation, committee hearings, and other activities, providing updates, summaries, and detailed memos. Assist in the development and implementation of advocacy strategies to achieve legislative policy goals, including identifying relevant stakeholders, monitoring engagement opportunities, and supporting outreach efforts. Contribute to the preparation of practice group deliverables, including legislative forecasts, end-of-session summaries, policy briefings, and other written materials for internal and external audiences. Maintain and update internal legislative tracking systems and client-related information, including distribution lists and contact databases used to support client communications and reporting.
