*** Non Recruiters Job ***   This position has been relisted. Eastburn and Gray, a long-established law firm with offices in Montgomery, Bucks and Lehigh counties, seeks an Education Law Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, the desire to assist clients with professional communication and resilient work product. An existing book of business and a genuine interest to grow our Education Law practice is preferred. There is some flexibility to work from any of our firm’s three office locations. The candidate will help to advise our school district clients, including Boards of Directors, administration and staff regarding legal issues related to its obligations under state and federal law, including but not limited to issues related to: student discipline, facilities, personnel, Constitutional issues, finance, governance, civil rights, labor relations, the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law, and similar authority Candidates with specific experience representing local educational agencies in special education matters arising under the IDEA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and state law is preferred. The candidate will interpret federal, state, and local laws, render legal opinions, and provide legal advice in the drafting of legal documents, policies, and other legal or quasi-legal documents. Candidates should have experience representing and advising the school entities in administrative hearings and before fact-finding panels and other entities. Conduct legal research, gather evidence, prepare pleadings and legal briefs as necessary to defend or initiate legal action. Appear before federal, state, and local courts, and before legislative bodies to present the district's position on issues pending before those entities. Attend and provide legal advice at regular meetings of the School Board and such other meetings as are required, including night meetings. Position Requirements: ∙In addition to outstanding academic and employment credentials, candidates must demonstrate excellent analytical, research, writing and oral communication skills. ∙Ability to work independently. ∙Experience working with school districts and other educational institutions is required. ∙PA Bar license required. ∙Admission in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania We offer a competitive salary and generous benefits package including health and dental insurance, a generous 401(k) plan with matching contributions, PTO, and disability and life insurances.
