Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to the Marketing and Business Development Manager. Position Summary The Marketing Assistant will work as part of the Texas offices to support the local marketing team to implement strategic marketing, business development, and communication initiatives in the region. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded and innovative team, while working as an integral part of the global marketing and business development team. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed. Key Responsibilities Coordinates and tracks sponsorships, including working with creative services to prepare advertisements for charitable and client events and communicating with internal and external stakeholders Supports internal communications, including preparing newsletters and event-related outreach Assists with event coordination including venue outreach, drafting invitations, processing invoices, managing invite lists and providing on-site support as needed Helps maintain client and charitable events and sponsorship calendars and other internal communications Prepares marketing materials for various functions (i.e. new attorney announcements, internal newsletters, PowerPoint materials for attorneys presentations, etc.) Assists with drafting, reviewing and editing marketing materials (i.e. press releases, newsletters, nominations, biographies, pitch materials, social media content, and external marketing collateral) Coordinates the flow of information from attorneys to marketing team, including as it relates to attorney biographies, practice area description updates, tracking news and activities data, press releases, etc. Updates content on website and in various databases (i.e. biographies, RFP/Proposal tracker, event tracker, experience tracker, practice descriptions, etc.) Delivers professional customer service to internal colleagues and external clients Ensures administrative details for marketing functions (i.e. events, newsletters, press releases, website and social content) are handled with accuracy and in a timely manner Collaborates with marketing professionals throughout the firm including the communications team, events team and creative team Develops relationships with attorneys, an understanding of the local practices, office initiatives, and representations of key clients Assists with other projects as assigned Qualifications Skills & Competencies A self-starter and team player, able to accept direction, yet work independently Tech-savvy problem solver who will have the ability to learn new programs or systems with ease Interest in utilizing events to fulfill marketing strategy Excellent prioritization, problem solving and time management skills Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral; including solid composition, research and editing skills Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment that works well under pressure A positive attitude, strong attention to detail and has excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills Education & Prior Experience Bachelor’s degree required 0-3 years clerical or office-related experience desired Prior marketing or law firm experience is a plus Technology High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) GT is an EEO employer with an inclusive workplace committed to merit-based consideration and review without regard to an individual’s race, sex, or other protected characteristics and to the principles of non-discrimination on any protected basis.
