Property Management Attorney / Litigation

Blanco Tackabery is currently soliciting applications for an entry-level position in our Property Management Practice Group. Eligible applicants are those sitting for the North Carolina bar exam in Summer 2025 or those in their first few years of practice. Located in Winston-Salem, the City of Arts and Innovation in North Carolina’s Piedmont, Blanco Tackabery a full-service, business-oriented law firm that offers sophisticated legal services across a range of industries and practice areas. Our property management attorneys represent clients in a variety of capacities in cases involving affordable and conventional multifamily property owners and managers, both in and out of court. This position will involve litigating landlord-tenant matters, mainly evictions, in small claims court and on appeal. On most days, you will go to court and have a trial or trials on landlords’ cases for evictions. The position will also involve supporting senior attorneys in other landlord-tenant matters, including fair housing defense, compliance under LIHTC, HUD, USDA-Rural Development, and other affordable programs, and drafting template management documents, such as leases and management agreements. We are seeking applicants with strong academic credentials; participation on a journal, moot court, or similar activity is preferred. Prior experience in housing law and/or litigation is not required, but successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt in a challenging, fast-paced, complex, and constantly evolving practice area. Strong communication, time management, and public-speaking skills are essential.
