A Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC), also known as a “Pediatric Champion”, is a proven strategy for improving emergency care for children. These are dedicated individuals who coordinate pediatric activities and advocate for some of our most vulnerable patients. Having a PECC in emergency departments is one of the strongest drivers of improved pediatric outcomes. While prehospital research is ongoing, it is expected that PECCs in EMS agencies have a similar impact.
