*** Non Recruiters Job ***   Role Overview Clyde & Co is seeking an Associate to join our Regulatory & Investigations practice, with a focus on national security, export controls, economic sanctions, and foreign investment regulation. This role is well suited for an attorney looking to build experience in international trade and national security matters. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys on complex regulatory issues affecting clients across a range of industries, including aerospace and defense, technology, telecommunications, energy, financial services, and industrials. Key Responsibilities Support advising clients on U.S. economic sanctions programs administered by the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Assist with customs and import compliance matters, including issues involving U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Support matters involving foreign direct investment reviews and national security considerations, including work related to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) Conduct legal research and assist in drafting memoranda, client alerts, and compliance guidance related to export controls, sanctions, and foreign investment regulations Assist with due diligence and regulatory risk assessments for mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions Support internal investigations, compliance reviews, and risk assessments Work with senior attorneys to advise clients in highly regulated industries, including defense, aerospace, and technology Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (D.C. preferred or willingness to obtain) 1–3 years of experience in international trade, regulatory law, litigation, or a related practice area Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills Interest in national security, export controls, sanctions, and cross-border regulatory matters Ability to manage multiple assignments and work in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience Exposure to export controls, sanctions, or customs matters (through prior work, internships, or coursework) Familiarity with agencies such as BIS, OFAC, CBP, or CFIUS (not required) Experience in a law firm, government, or clerkship setting *We are not accepting agency submissions at this time* The pay range for this position ranges from $140,000-$160,000 annually. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
