Summary: An established California law firm is seeking an Unlawful Detainer Attorney to handle high-volume eviction and landlord-tenant litigation matters. The role involves managing cases from intake through trial, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, negotiating settlements, and making frequent in-person court appearances. Ideal candidates will have strong litigation skills, deep knowledge of California landlord-tenant law, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: Drafting Notices: Prepare 3-Day and 30-Day Notices for the tenant. Preparing Complaints and Responses: Draft unlawful detainer complaints and responses to be filed in court. Requesting Trials: Promptly request an immediate trial to expedite the process. Serving Defendants: Ensure proper service of the unlawful detainer papers to the defendants. Obtaining Judgments: Assist in obtaining judgments from the court. May perform other duties as assigned to support department goals. May occasionally work extended hours based on operational needs. Experience and Skills: Teamwork: Ability to work independently while managing multiple matters and collaborating with a supportive team. Client Interaction: Excellent communication and persuasive speaking skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues. Legal Research: Proficiency in legal research to gather and analyze case law and statutes relevant to unlawful detainer cases.
